Dec. 23rd, 2005 @ 09:29 pm And a Merry Fucking Christmas to you too, Asshole
To set the stage, along with all the home stuff, I'm also currently in the midst of the 3rd throat infection I've caught in the last two months, and had a moment of sheer panic when I went to wrap my brother's Christmas gift and realized the store had put the wrong thing in the box. And today, I was in a lovely little hit-and-run type accident.

I was backing out of a parking spot at a mall when some idiot came screeching around the corner and hit my car. I pull back into my spot as Idiot pulls into a spot behind me. We get out of our cars, his huge Jeep isn't even scratched, while my back passenger bumper has been totally smashed in. It's not even the same side as the previous incident, which still hasn't been fixed.
I tell the guy that we need to exchange insurance information and whatnot. He tells me "There's no damage to my truck and I don't want my insurance to go up." Before I can even think to react, he's back in the truck and gone.
I've got a witness to accident, but neither of us got the Jeep's license number. I did file a police report, but I doubt anything will come of it.
I just want to find the bastard and make him pay for the $750 dollars in new damage he's caused.

Ouch! I'm sorry to hear about your Christmas woes. That guy is RAW. As if he just bolted like that! Geeze, people are so ridiculous.

I remember last Christmas I was walking through the parking lot at the mall and I witnessed an accident and it was this young woman (roughly mid-twenties) who "bumped" into an older lady -- like we're definitely talking senior here. And the young woman -- who was at FAULT -- SCREAMED at this old lady.

I couldn't believe my ears. Like she just lost it on this poor woman who wasn't even at fault and I felt like telling the girl that this could really be her OWN grandmother.

People are so cruel sometimes. I guess the holidays can bring out the worst in people as much as the good. But I hate witnessing acts of hostility like that.

I hope you manage to track down that guy. He deserves a lump of coal in his stocking for sure.
